Avril Lavigne

Rated at number 8 in the Forbes list of 20-top earning young superstars, Avril Lavigne has sold more than 30 million copies of her albums worldwide. In 2009, Billboard named Lavigne the #10 pop artist in the "Best of the 2000s" chart.

The Canadian star knows not only how to earn her fortune, but also splurge it. She bought a 12,000-square-foot Calabasas mansion which has 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, an elevator, sauna and 10-car garage.

We love Avril’s quirky sense of style – the pink highlights, generous dash of eye liners on her eyes and the fierce use of black in her ensembles.
Here are some of her red carpet looks -

Okay, seriously, what was she thinking? Maybe she was out practising for a rock performance, then rushed for the event and forgot to change her shoes! That’s the only logical reason that we can think of for this fashion disaster.

Taylor Swift

At just 22 years of age, Taylor Swift is a country-pop singer, song-writer, performer, musician and actress. The young artist has won four Grammy Awards including the Album of the Year at the 52nd Grammy Awards.
The singer has some awesome numbers to her credit, but not as adventurous when it comes to experimenting with fashion.

Glam glam glam – just about everything – golden and cream off shoulder dress, the golden stilettos and clutch purse, dark pink lips and those soft curls. Just about everything seems to be falling into place for Ms. Swift in this pic.

This bling dress is not one of our favourites for her.

Now, don't get us wrong, we love those soft curls, but they are getting monotonous now. We would love to see her sport a different hairstyle (maybe really short choppy hair or just something different) and erm... also, she could try not keeping her hand on her hip every single time she is being clicked.

Fergie

The Black eyed Peas star Fergie is quite a fearless fashionista. The singer has recently launched her own line of footwear and attended the launch party for her footwear collection at Macy’s in NYC today. You can check the collection at her website.

Fergie also seems to be a contender for the judging panel on X-Factor.
We love Fergie's look at The American Red Cross ‘Red Tie Affair’ at Fairmont Miramar Hotel on April 9, 2011 in Santa Monica, CA.
We know, shrink wrap tight dresses are no more hot this season and this knee length red dress fits Fergie just fine. The nude peep toe stilettos add length to her legs and we just love the animal print clutch (Read more on animal print here).

Jumpsuit (Part 2): Jumpsuit Star Katy Perry

Katy Perry seems to be in love with the jumpsuit style. She is one celebrity who can rock so many different looks and manage to look gorgeous each time.

Katy Perry performs in this red jumpsuit during the 2010 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Katy Perry wearing a blue jumpsuit – the print is rather big on a sharp shade of blue. We love her, but we’re not so gaga over this jumpsuit though.

Jumpsuits (Part 1): The Trend

Jumpsuits are set to be one of the hottest fashion trends this season. We love how versatile they are - with so many different styles and cuts, you can find one for any occasion – no matter how casual or formal it is. Originally worn by skydivers, these one piece garments are making fashion statements this season. They look glamorous and are a good break from dresses and trousers / denims.

How to wear it casual:
No doubt jumpsuits are big on fashion this season, but one should be careful to pick one which suits your body type. If you are slender and tall, a full length jumpsuit will look great. However, if you are on the short side, a short length jumpsuit will make you look taller.
To make it a casual wear, get a jumpsuit in a soft fabric. There are so many variations available – from deep V-shaped necklines to strapless, from plain block colours to floral and patterned prints, from short to long... the options are endless.
The key to getting a good jumpsuit for yourself is to find one that fits you well – it should not be too loose and not extremely tight either.
Accessorise it with casual footwear – like gladiator sandals or flip-flops and wear on some chic jewellery.

Animal print (Part 4): How NOT to wear animal print

The key to wearing animal prints is to balance the print and not let it over power your personality.
Fashion is about the latest trends, but how you mould it to suit your personality and body type is what makes it your own and makes you stand out.

Here are a few celebrity animal print disasters

Nicki Minaj - a little over done with the animal print here

Paris Hilton - not hot here with this animal print, jump suit like looking outfit

Animal Print (Part 3): Accessorise with animal print

The jungle mania in fashion is not just limited to clothes. Animal print in accessories makes quite a statement as well.

How to wear it:
Spice up your little black dress with animal print pumps.

You can also accessorise almost anything with an animal print piece. Wear a scarf with your casual denims, carry a big animal print bag or just wear animal print hoops / earrings.

Here are some celebrities sporting this style.

Bar Refaeli in Paris – we love this style.

Animal Print (Part 2): Celebrities inspired by the jungle

Animal Print (part 1): The Trend

The trend:
Being carried forward from last year, animal prints are a rage this season as well. Far from subtle, these prints are not only popular in dresses, but are also hot in accessories. This year’s favourites from the jungle are the Leopard, Zebra and Giraffe.

How to wear it:
Animal prints are almost never out of style. Get a classy and sexy dress in animal print for those evenings. Pick a length and style you are comfortable with, the fierce prints make any pattern stand out. Accessorise with the colour red – wear a red belt (experiment with a bow belt if you are bold enough), red heels and a simple red clutch purse.
